International Emergency Management
Student Association - FSU Chapter

NOTE: The FSU Student Chapter of IEMSA is in its infancy and has not been officially chartered by IAEM at this time. We are looking for energetic persons who want to get this chapter started from the ground up and become founding members.

The International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)
is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting the goals of saving lives and protecting property during emergencies and disasters.

Vision: IAEM shall be recognized as a premier international organization of emergency management professionals.

Mission:  The mission of IAEM is to serve its members by providing information, networking and professional opportunities, and to advance the emergency management profession.

Purpose of Student Chapters: To strive to promote community awareness through practical education and the dissemination of information on the field of Emergency Management. We aspire to engage students in volunteer and/or interned positions which will benefit the students and prepare them for a career in the field. We will become a networking resource for students and alumni to increase student opportunities within the field of Emergency Management. We will be a uniting force "for students and by students."

Recent global awareness in the field of emergency management has facilitated an exponential growth in emergency management education programs and the number of students as well. Through uniting these students, the IAEM FSU Student Chapter hopes to facilitate additional development in the field and support students on their path to careers in emergency management. The chapter facilitates an image of professionalism while it fosters the growth of interest in the field of emergency management.

IAEM recognized the important contributions emergency management students and students in other emergency service related programs, were making towards the continued evolution and growth of the emergency management profession and acknowledged that they literally represented the future of the emergency management profession. IAEM also recognizes the importance of facilitating the professional development of these students.
