Hurricane Opal 1995

Tropics 2008

* CURRENT SITUATION: Updated: 7/02/08 12:00PM

The well-defined tropical wave in the far Eastern Atlantic, about 300 miles SouthEast of the Cape Verde Islands, has not become any better organized this morning as it continues Westward at about 15 mph. However, environmental conditions appear favorable for some additional development. This system has the potential to become a tropical depression over the next couple days. This system is no threat to any FSU properties at this time.

Elsewhere, tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 24 hours.
