The Chemical Safety Office provides resources and support for reducing potential chemical and environmental hazards associated with chemicals in laboratories and workplaces. The Chemical Safety Office is tasked with ensuring the university’s compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Services offered include hazardous waste disposal, laboratory and workplace inspections, and training for individuals associated with Florida State University including students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Technical support is provided during Research Grant Proposal reviews and as information on proper handling storage and disposal of chemicals.
Training is also provided to the campus community to support legal mandates. Sessions include Right-To-Know/Hazard Communication, Hazardous Waste Awareness and Laboratory Safety. Other topics and customized materials are provided as needed.
