Radiation Safety

The Radiation Safety Office is responsible for ensuring the safety of the University community from radiological hazards associated with the use of radioactive materials, radiation producing machines, and lasers in FSU laboratories and workplaces.

Services offered include maintenance of the University's radioactive material licenses, receipt and shipment of radioactive materials, radioactive waste segregation and disposal, laboratory surveys and inspections, and personnel exposure monitoring and bioassays.

The Radiation Safety Office also offers formal training for students, faculty, staff, and visiting researchers that may use or be present where radiation or radioactive materials are used.

Radiation Safety Office staff are always available to provide technical support and assistance when necessary.
